From 10–13 December, 2014, a Delegation of Ageless IP Attorneys & Consultants-headed by Mr. Nguyen Duc Xuan-Managing Partner; Ms. Hoang Thanh Hong-Head of Indochina Trademark Department; and Ms. Nguyen Khanh Linh-Deputy Chief of Indochina Patent Department paid a visit to the Department of Industrial property within Cambodia Ministry of Industry and Handicraft. The host consist of Mr. Ngeth Vibol– General Deputy Director of Industrial Property Dept.; Mr. Chhean Piseth–Deputy Director of Department of Industrial Property; Mr. Chum Soputhy–Chief of Industrial Design Office and Mr. Svay Ren–Chief of Patent Office.
At the meeting, Mr Ngeth along with other colleagues had discussed in detailed about the current practices in Registration and protection of patent and industrial design.
There is an important news is that the first patent is going to be issued by Department of Industrial Property, which not only marks a new and key milestone in the development and important in the field of Intellectual Property in Cambodia. This not only will provides another legal tools to Cambodia enterprises as well as foreign investors operating in Cambodia but also contributes to creating a completed legal environment and attractive investment environment in Cambodia.
Within the framework of the visit, delegation from Ageless also discussed with the host about issues related to searching patent and industrial design especially the regulation in relation to patent protection for Pharmaceutical products, the use of pharmaceutical inventions for testing purposes.
During the meeting, Ageless also updated development in legal structure in Vietnam, shared experiences in the field of establishment and protection IPRs. Thereby, two parties reviewed the co-operation in 2014 and plan schedule for co-operation in 2015, promote a better relationship between Ageless and Industrial Property Department of Cambodia.
