This updated classification will take effect from January 01, 2026.

The Nice classification version 13-2026 introduces several adjustments to the classification of goods and services, including the reallocation of certain products and services to different classes compared to previous versions. The key changes are summarized as follows:
- Goods relating to “eyeglasses” and certain eyewear-related have been reclassified from Class 09 to Class 10.
- Goods such as “electrically heated clothing” and “electrically heated socks”, etc. have been officially reclassified from Class 11 to Class 25.
- In addition, this updated Nice Classification introduces revisions, additions, and reclassifications for a number of other goods and services.
Accordingly, as of January 01, 2026, compliance with the 13-2026 version is mandatory for all new trademark applications in Vietnam. If a trademark application in Vietnam does not correctly classify goods and services, IPVN will undertake the classification and collect the corresponding fees from the trademark applicant.
