The multiple-class application for trademark in Laos officially allow as from February 01, 2016. It provides the new option for Applicants who are interested in filing trademark in Laos. Depending on the brand registration and development strategy as well as protection for trademark in Laos, the Applicant can choose the Single-class or Multi-class application.
A well-known trademark in Vietnam would be protected, irrespective of whether they are registered or not. However the owners have to prove the well-known characters and their trademarks satisfy the conditions for being considered well-known.
In fact, the conflict often occurs mainly between owners of trademark in Vietnam and the subject who register domain name for registration, possess and dispose of domain names.
